More Than a Restaurant.
A Place That Belongs
to Geneva.
The Shoppe was built on a simple belief โ that every hometown deserves a place where families gather, memories are made, and the food is made from scratch with pride. This is that place.
Where We Stand
This Ground Has Always
Brought People Together.
Long before The Shoppe opened its doors, this corner of Downtown Geneva was already a gathering place. In the late 1950s and early 1960s, families from across the region made their annual pilgrimage here when the traveling carnival came to town โ filling this very lot with laughter, wonder, and the kind of magic that small towns are built on.
That tradition of community gathering never really left this land. When we chose this location for The Shoppe in 2011, we weren't just selecting a building โ we were honoring a legacy that stretches back generations. Today, with Geneva's Splash Pad and Playground steps away, that spirit of families coming together is alive and thriving right next door.
We are actively working to document this property's history with the Alabama Historical Commission as part of our commitment to preserving Downtown Geneva's cultural heritage.
๐ฐ We are working with the Geneva newspaper archives to recover historical photographs of this site from the carnival era. If you have photos or memories of this lot from the 1950s or 60s, we would love to hear from you.

Built from Scratch.
Just Like the Food.
Sharon didn't come to the restaurant business by accident. She had already built and operated The Ice Cream Castle โ a beloved standalone ice cream parlor that proved one thing beyond any doubt: she knew how to create a place people love.
That experience, that instinct for hospitality, and that deep understanding of what a community ice cream experience should feel like became the DNA of The Shoppe. She is, and has always been, the heart of this place.
When we looked at Geneva, we saw a gap. Families deserved a hometown restaurant โ not a chain, not a drive-through โ a real place. A place where kids would remember their first ice cream cone. Where Friday nights meant a great burger. Where the food was made with your hands, not pulled from a bag.
In August 2011, we opened The Shoppe in Downtown Geneva and gave this community exactly that. Hand-pattied burgers. Hand-breaded fish and shrimp. A full ice cream parlor. A 1950s diner that felt timeless. Geneva showed up for us โ and we showed up for Geneva.

Economic Development
Investing in Downtown Geneva.
The Shoppe's return is not just about great food โ it is a deliberate, community-driven investment in the economic vitality of Downtown Geneva.
The Shoppe's downtown location places it at the center of Geneva's most active public corridor โ steps from the City-operated Splash Pad and Playground that draws families from across the region. Our presence directly supports the extended dwell time and economic activity that Downtown Geneva businesses depend on.
We are committed to hiring locally, purchasing from regional suppliers where possible, and operating a business that generates meaningful, sustainable employment for Geneva-area residents. Every dollar invested in The Shoppe is a dollar invested in this community.
The Shoppe in Geneva, LLC is an active participant in Downtown Geneva's economic development โ creating jobs, attracting visitors, and investing private capital in a historic commercial corridor.
The People Behind The Shoppe

Co-Founder ยท The Face of The Shoppe
Sharon is the soul of The Shoppe. From her years running The Ice Cream Castle to opening day in 2011, she has spent her career creating spaces where communities gather. If you've ever visited The Shoppe, chances are Sharon made you feel right at home.
Mikhail
Co-Founder ยท Operations & Vision
Mikhail's background spans corporate operations and entrepreneurship, but his heart has always been in Geneva. The decision to return and relaunch The Shoppe was never a business calculation โ it was a commitment to the community that supported this family for over a decade.
"Geneva gave us everything.
It was time to give something back."
Because Geneva Deserves This.
We didn't have to come back. But when we saw what this community was missing โ a real gathering place, a scratch kitchen, an ice cream parlor for the families next to the Splash Pad โ the answer was simple. Geneva gave The Shoppe fifteen years of loyalty. The least we could do was show up.
So we rolled up our sleeves, reinvested in the building, rebuilt the team, and are relaunching with everything we know about how to do this right. Better equipment. Stronger operations. The same scratch-made food and the same love for this community that started it all in 2011.
This is not a comeback story. This is the next chapter.
